Oil palm trees have long been harvested for their valuable fruits. These are sterilised and pressed to extract crude palm oil that is used in the production of foods and cosmetics, among other products and industries.The large fruit bunches can contain up to 3,000 fruit-lets and are harvested all year round. The abundant fibrous masses of empty fruit bunches (EFB) used to be incinerated – having a negative impacts on the environment.

Compalm takes the empty fruit bunches (EFB) a natural agricultural waste product - and processes into a useable palm fibre. When mixed with food-grade additives the palm fibre’s natural water and oil repellency is increased and forms our palm pulp. Compalm transforms this versatile pulp into strong and durable packaging shapes and sizes to suit the needs of many different industries.

The additional beauty of Compalm’s packaging is that it’s totally biodegradable. Once the pack has done it’s job, it can be composed and decompose in a home domestic compost heap, adding a healthy contribution to soil – giving something back to nature in accordance with EN13432 tested by ISEGA Germany
